INTRODUCING...
Dreyer's Take the Cake Ice Cream.
It is definitely on the sweet side, but it really reminded me of the Funfetti Cake that Jack loves so much (Happy Birthday Jackson on the 22nd). And something about the flavor reminded me of the Swenson's Bubble Gum Ice Cream flavor from when we were kids, but I'm not sure why or how. It's delicious--get some....tonight.
Our latest favorite family book is 'My Father's Dragon' by Ruth Stiles Gannett. It is a classic re-read but If you haven't read it, your whole family will enjoy it. It is mesmerizing and we can never just read one chapter. With school starting soon, we relish our free reading time.

Oh I love Friday Favorites! I'm glad to see someone is doing them again! I can't wait to try that ice cream and read that book. I hope Jack eats that ice cream on his birthday, it's very fitting! I'm always looking for good chapter books because that's the fastest way to put my kids to sleep. The picture books just keep them up! =)
Bear Lake looks like it was so much fun. I wish it would have worked out for us to be there. Maybe another year.
My kids loved the three books in that series. It's such a kooky story-perfect for kids. As for the ice cream, we used to order a flavor like that in Fairport at Lickety split. It was called Birthday Cake and Ice cream and I was smitten once upon a time. Thanks for reinstituting FFs.
Mmmmmmmm....gotta' try that ice cream! :)
